If Battlerite is not performing well on a laptop that has a Nvidia or AMD graphics card, it may be running with the wrong GPU. Most laptops have more than one GPU; an integrated and a dedicated one. The dedicated GPU is required for more demanding tasks, such as gaming. If the integrated GPU is being used instead of the dedicated one, you might have issues running the game and notice poor performance. If your laptop has a power saving mode, it will most likely switch to the integrated GPU to preserve battery power.
To see if your computer have more than one GPU, open the Device Manager and navigate to Display Adapters. Your GPU or GPUs will be shown there.
Switch to the dedicated GPU by following these steps:
NVIDIA
- Open NVIDIA Control Panel
- Under 3D Settings, click Manage 3D Settings
- Click the Program Settings tab and choose the game from the dropdown menu.
- Choose Battlerite.exe (If you can't find it click Browse and look up battlerite.exe. It's located in the steamapps folder where you keep your Steam games. Default path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Battlerite\battlerite.exe)
- In the second drop-down select the preferred graphics processor for this program. Your Nvidia GPU should show as High performance Nvidia processor.
- Click Apply
AMD
- Open Radeon Settings
- Navigate to Preferences > Additional Settings > Power > Switchable Graphics Application Settings
- Select the game from the list of applications. If it is not in the list, click the Add Application button and select the *.exe-file of the game from the game's installation directory. This adds the game to the list and you'll be able to select it afterwards.
- In the column Graphics Settings, assign the High Performance profile to the game.
- Click Apply
